Antique cabinet photo of Maude Branscombe, taken by the photographer Jose Maria Mora.  This cabinet card is an original, it was purchased from the estate of a long-time photographer and camera collector.  This cabinet photo measures 4.25 x 6.5 inches.  Mora’s studio was located on 707 Broadway, New York, and I read he was one of the most popular and artistic photographers of the time in NY.  He is credited with finding Maude and making her famous, as her looks helped her gain in popularity vs. her artistic talent and skill on the stage.  As you can see this cabinet photo has wear; it is a circa 1870s – 1880s photograph and has a pinhole on the top, light stains on the photo and edge wear as shown.  The clarity and focus is quite impressive.   We’ll be sure to package it well for shipping, enjoy!
